The PG Department of Psychology in association with Childline Malappuram (Ministry of Women and Child Development) conducted an awareness campaign as part of the 'World Day Against Child Labour' on 14/06/2022, Tuesday. As a part of this initiative, 15 students of 2nd year Msc Psychology along with 2 faculties (Mrs.Shahba & Mrs. Shahana) took part in the awareness programme.
The campaign was directed towards informing the wide public and different social groups about the outreach services provided for vulnerable childrens and to create awareness among citizens about child rights and protection, to raise their voices and take action when they see vulnerable children or working children being exploited.
Awareness was raised by distributing notice among passengers of Second Express train starting from Nilambur to Angadipuram accentuating the services provided by Childline in eradictaing child labour. The helpline and outreach services provided by the Childline Malappuram for children in need of care and protection was also highlighted.
The campaign was further extended to the high school students of Tarakan Higher secondary school, Angadipuram and to the general public gathered at the Perinthalamanna town bus stand.
