Empyrean : Department of English Association Inauguration

The English Department's association inauguration program, "Empyrean", took place on March 25, 2024, Monda at 11:00 am, at the college auditorium. The event witnessed the presence of the entire student body of the English department, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the occasion. The inauguration was graced by Ms. Ameena Jahan, Principal of NOBLE Public School, who brought a wealth of experience and wisdom to the event. ASPERA2023-24 : Inauguration of Psychology Association

The official inauguration of the Psychology Association ‘ASPERA2023-24', was held on March 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the college auditorium. Prayer led by the college prayer team opened the program. A hearty welcome was given to the dignitaries and guests by Dr. Anupama SR, Head of the Psychology Department. The inauguration was made even more significant by the participation of Dr. U. Saidalvi, Principal of Noble Women’s College, who inspired the students and stressed the value of psychology and mental health in today’s hectic environment during his presidential speech. The Psychology Association “APERA 2023-24” was officially inaugurated by Mr. Suni MS, Clinical psychologist at MES Medical College Perinthalmanna and an international member of the American Psychological Association. KAIZEN: COMMERCE & MANAGEMENT STUDIES ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION 2023-24

Kerala Piravi Celebration 2023

On November 2nd, 2023, the Department of Sociology celebrated Kerala Piravi Day (November 1) with a distinctive approach by creating a model of Kerala at courtyard by using various parts of a coconut. This event not only marked the significance of Kerala’s foundation but also demonstrated creativity and cultural appreciation. The centerpiece of the event was a meticulously crafted model of the state of Kerala using 14 distinctive parts of a coconut. The talented students involved in the making of creative kerala mapping with coconut parts showcased their artistic and technical skills to represent the geographical features of the state. Materials used were; coconut shell, leaves, sticks, ,roots, inflorescence, spathe, baby coconut etc. /Read More

VISTOSA : Face Painting Competition

'VISTOSA',a face painting competition was conducted on 27 October 2023, Friday at 1:45 pm in the college courtyard by the PG Department of Psychology in connection with the Mental Health Awareness Month. The program was conducted with an aim of promoting the students’ talent of expressing themselves through their art. The theme of the competition was ' Mental Health is a Universal right '. A total of 15 pairs participated for the competition from various departments of the college. A group of judges evaluated the performance of the participants based on the depiction of theme, its presentation and the color pallet.The group of judges were Ms. Haritha CP, Mr Moideenkutty KK, Mr. Sharafudheen, Mrs Nuzla Thabassum Kattukandathil and Mr Jasim M. The students exhibited an exceptional performance with their vivid imagination and precise strokes of colours. On the 19th of October 2023, the Media Club of NWC had its grand inauguration ceremony, with Mr. Ashkar Ali Karimba, a seasoned senior reporter from Reporter TV as the chief guest. The English Department of Noble Women's College,Manjeri held a two-day event titled "Debouchre," showcasing the scholarly endeavors of the III Semester MA students on September 18 and 19, 2023. Inauguration of M.Sc Clinical Psychology

The PG Department of Psychology conducted INITIUM the inauguration of MSc Clinical Psychology on Tuesday, 19 September 2023 at 10:30 AM in the college auditorium. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the prayer by Liya thasni(3rd BSc Psychology) and the welcome note by Dr. Anupama SR (Head of Department, Psychology). Dr. U. Saidalavi (Principal, NWC) delivered the presidential address and keynote address was given by Er Ismail P (Secretary, NWC). The chief guest Dr Prajeesh Palanthara (Director, TRUST Centre for Mindful Living, Ernakulam) who is a true inspiration for the psychology aspirants. He officially inaugurated the programme MSc Clinical Psychology. Followed by the session “Navigating the Diverse Dimensions of Clinical Psychology". Around 160 students attended the session which was very informative and interactive. Tech Talk on Become a Next Generation Software Professional

The PG Department of Computer Science in collaboration with Arion Infotech organised a Seminar on ‘Become a Next Generation Software Professional’ on 18th September 2023 at Computer Lab. The session commenced by silent prayer and the welcome speech delivered by Mr. Abdul Latheef A, Asst. Professor Department of Computer Science. The inaugural session is held by Mrs. Sakkeena K K, Head of Department of Computer Science at 01:30 pm. The session was enriched with presences of dignitaries and students of the Computer Science department. After the introduction session, the seminar with interactive session starts at 01:40 pm. Hindi Divas Celebration

The Department of Oriental Languages, NWC celebrated Hindi Divas with great enthusiasm, featuring a Hindi poem recitation competition that showcased our linguistic diversity. The event's success was attributed to dedicated faculty and students. Mr. Sharafudheen, from the Department of Malayalam, warmly welcomed everyone, emphasizing the importance of celebrating Hindi Divas. Mr. Madhusoodhanan, from the Department of Hindi, conducted the competition with passion and expertise, inspiring participants to excel. Dr. U Saidalvi, our Principal, graced the prize distribution ceremony, encouraging linguistic diversity in our society. Ms. Ridha of 1st semester BCA won the 1st prize, displaying remarkable Hindi proficiency, and Ms. Arya of 5th semester B. Com secured the 2nd prize, impressing with her recitation skills. On the 13th of September 2023, Career Guidance and Placement cell of Noble Women's College in Manjeri hosted a CUET Coaching Orientation Program in association with AIFER Education. Green Vibes 2023

The PG Department of Computer Science in association with IT Club and Quiz Club organized a Tree Planting Programme on 06th June 2023 for lower primary students in AMLP School Pullancheri, Manjeri as part of department extension programme.The program conducted for providing awareness about importance of environment through planting trees on behalf of World Environment Day. The students from first year BCA,First year Msc CS and Second year MSc CS,of our college conducted the activities such as tree planting,maintenence of plants which are placed in the previous year,awareness session on importance of protecting environment,quiz competition etc. under the guidance of the department. The Programme began with the welcome address by school manager TMA Rahman. The programme inaugurated by Manoj Kumar N,Head master of AMLP School Pullancheri.Computer science HoD Mrs Sakeena KK and second year MSC CS representative Mrs.Rabeehath Sarhana addressed the audience. Workshop on Revised Framework of NAAC & SSR Preparation

The Internal Assurance Cell of Noble Women's College Manjeri conducted a workshop on the topic "Revised Framework of NAAC & SSR Preparation" on 25th February 2023, Saturday. The session was handled by the Principal, Dr. U. Saidalvi, who is a renowned educationist and an expert in NAAC and SSR preparation.The welcome address wasgiven by Ms. Jisna N T(IQAC Coordinator). The objective of the workshop was to familiarize the faculty members and staff with the revised framework of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the Self Study Report (SSR) preparation. The workshop aimed to enable the participants to understand the changes in the revised framework and prepare for the upcoming NAAC assessment. Annual Sports Meet 2022 - 23

The Annual Sports Meet of Noble Women's College Whistle was held on the 9th and 10th of February at the college ground. The event was inaugurated with great enthusiasm on the 9th of February, with the hoisting of the flag by Principal Dr. U Saidalvi and PTA Vice President Mr. Abdusalam. The meet was graced by the presence of renowned freestyler Mr Muhammed Riswan, who inaugurated the event in the presence of other dignitaries. The participants of the university athletic meet led the torch relay, adding to the excitement of the event. Over 250 athletes participated in 21 events over the course of two days, making the Annual Sports Meet a display of impressive athleticism and sportsmanship. The groups Golden Blazers, Crimson Flames, and Blue Diamonds secured first, second, and third places respectively. /Read More

The session titled “ Importance of  Holistic Learning in New Educational Scenario" was handled by Dr Ali jafar.ch (Assistant professor, Head, Department of Arabic , Amal college of Advanced studies Nilambur ). MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

The PG Department of Psychology in association with Psyfoz conducted an awareness session on October 10 World Mental Health Day. The main objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. The session was handled by Aslam Siddiq, Clinical Psychologist and founder of Psyfoz. The session enhanced the knowledge among the students about the importance of mental health and raised awareness on mental health issues.  The session began at 9:30 am with the official welcome address by Ms Maneesha (Asst. Professor of Dept. of Psychology), the presidential address was given by Dr.Anupama SR Head of Dept., the inaugural address was given by honorable principal Dr. U Saidalavi Sir, whose talk gave an insight into current statistics of mental health issues. PSYCHODRAMA

The PG Department of Psychology successfully conducted an Intercollegiate Psychodrama Competition focusing on the theme ‘Creating hope through action’ in connection with World Suicide Prevention Day. The competition was held on 1st October 2022 at the College Auditorium from 10:30 am to 1 pm. A total of five team from five different colleges participated for the competition, namely, MES Keveeyam College Valanchery, Grace Valley College of Arts and Science, Jamia Nadwiyya Arts and Science College, Safi Institute of Advanced Study and Noble Women’s College, Manjeri. The program began with a one-minute silent prayer which was followed by a thematic dance signifying the importance of mental health. The Head of the Department, Dr Anupama S R, briefed out the instructions to be followed and introduced the juries of the competition. QUIZ COMPETITION 22

The PG Department of Psychology in association with Quiz club of NWC conducted a quiz competition for students of the Department of Psychology on 30th September 2022 as a part of Co-curricular activities. The topic for the competition was General Psychology . From a total of 10 teams, the students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. The competition was indeed a very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants along with the audience. Although, all teams actively participated, Salwa Ishrath and Farsanamol (2nd year MSc Psychology) bagged the first position. PATH FINDER

PG Department of Psychology and Career Guidance cell Of NWC conducted a Career Guidance session - PATH FINDER on 28/09/2022 at 2:00pm at college Auditorium. We share our great happiness in its great success. The programme started with an official welcome note by Shahba (Career Guidance department coordinator and Faculty, Department of Psychology). Presidential address was carried by Dr. Anupama SR (HoD, Department of Psychology). Our beloved Principal Dr. U Saidalvi inaugurated the session. Dr. Abdussalam (NWC career guidance and placement cell Coordinator) addressed felicitation for the session. The Resource person of the day, Sayyid Shaheer, Senior Psychologist & HR trainer at Team Incubation handled the session well.About 150 students from the department of Psychology attended the session. ANTI-DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAM

The anti-narcotic cell of Noble Women's College Manjeri, Kerala State Excise Department and VIMUKTI Club jointly organized an anti-drug awareness program at the college auditorium on 19th September 2022. College Management Secretary Er. Ismail. P inaugurated Nerkoottam and Sradha Committee under Vimukti Club. College Principal Dr. U Saidalvi presided over the session. Excise Preventive Officer Shri. Anti Ragging Awareness Program

The Anti-ragging cell of Noble Women's College, Manjeri conducted an awareness session for the second and third year UG students, today (13th September, 2022) at the College Auditorium. The session was handled by Mr Savad C (Senior Civil Police Officer, Manjeri Police Station). The session helped the students to be aware of the laws of the country with respect to ragging and how it affects the lives of people victimised by it. The session also highlighted the Honourable Supreme Court’s Guidelines to be followed by universities, colleges and other educational institutes to curb ragging and educated the students on the IPC provisions for registering FIRs. /Read More

RANGOLI COMPETITION 2022

The PG Department of Psychology conducted Rangoli competition on 15th August 2022 as a part of Independence Day. Rangoli, one of the most traditional and most pleasing art form of India. The theme of the competition was Peace. The competition was open to all the students. A total of 4 teams consisting of 3 members each from various departments actively participated for the competition. The first prize was secured by Nadha Nazer, Rizan & Jasira of 3rd BSc Psychology. Jibin Farsana, Farsanamol & Nimna from 2nd MSc Psychology got the second prize. The third prize was shared by Hamna, Rishana & Shaini from 2nd MA Sociology and Nafla PP, Afna. KT & Mishyal from 3rd BSc Psychology. We are very thankful to our honourable Principal, Dr. U Saidalvi Sir for his guidance and suggestions to conduct the competition. INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY EKATA-FACE PAINTING COMPETITION

The PG Department Of Psychology successfully conducted “EKATA”- Face painting competition  based on the theme “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages” in connection with the International Youth Day on 12th August 2022 at 2nd BSc Psychology. The objective of International Youth Day 2022 is to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and leave no one behind. It will also raise awareness on certain barriers to intergenerational solidarity, notably ageism, which impacts young and old persons, while having detrimental effects on society as a whole. A total of 14 teams consisting of 2 members each from various departments actively participated for the same. The first prize was secured by Ansira & Nishma of 2nd BA English. The PG Department of English in association with the PG Department of Computer Science organised a Patriotic song competition exclusively for teachers on 12/08/2022 at the college auditorium. Teachers from various departments actively participated in the programme. First place was secured by the teachers of the department of English, second place was secured by the department of Psychology collectively with the department of Oriental Languages and third place was secured by the department of Computer Science. The PG department of English in association with Noblit Literary Club conducted a poetry recitation competition on the theme "Indian Independence" on 11/08/2022 at the seminar hall. The programme started with a patriotic song by the students of fifth semester, BA English. Students from UG and PG actively participated in the poetry recitation competition. 1st place was secured by Khanitha NK of 3rd BA English, second place was secured by Shibila of 2nd MA English and third place by Salwa Najeeb of 3rd BA English. EPISTEME Literature Quiz

PG Department of English has successfully conducted a literary quiz entitled 'EPISTEME 2022’ as a part of ‘Book Lover’s Day’ on 10 August 2022 (Wednesday). The  programme was exclusively for English students. In total, 42 students took part in the competition, who were split up into 21 pairs. The quiz had six rounds with a total of 30 questions. Shibila and Labeeba, a team from the first MA, won the first prize with 44 points. While Nihma and Rinsha, pair from the first BA, took home the second prize with 39 points, Shifna and Amana, duo from the second BA secured the third place with 38 points. /Read More

The PG Department of Computer Science conducted the IT Club inauguration on Wednesday, 20 July 2022, at 10:00 AM in the college auditorium. The inaugural ceremony commenced with a welcome note by Mr. Ishaque K (IT Club Coordinator). Dr. U. Saidalvi (Principal, NWC) officially inaugurated the club and released the OZRIC - IT Club logo. PERCIPIENCE: GENDER AND SEXUALITY-TALK 1

The PG Department of English in collaboration with Women Development Cell conducted the first talk of the talk series Percipience. The programme began at 11.30 with the welcome speech by Ms Hanna Kalathingal. Our respected Principal Dr.U Saidalavi inaugurated the function and in his inaugural address he talked about the misconception regarding  gender and sexuality, and the need to accept all types genders and sexualities. International Plastic Free Day 2022

The PG Department of Commerce and Management Studies carried out an Awareness Program on Plastic carry bag pollution as part of the extension activity in connection with International Plastic Free Day 2022 on 6/6/2022. A group of 20 students accompanied by Ms. Dhanya, Ms. Adila Thasni, and Ms. Hanna Shabnam visited nearby villages in the Vettekode locality and distributed pamphlets regarding tips to reduce plastic carry bags while shopping, and interacted with the residents regarding the safe disposal of plastic carry bags. They also distributed around 50 cloth bags designed by our students to promote a plastic-free environment and lifestyle. /Read More

Vaikom Muhammed Basheer Day

The PG Department of English in collaboration with Oriental Languages commemorated Vaikom Muhammed Basheer Day. Various contests such as quiz competition and character demonstration were conducted for students. An astonishing number of students have participated in the quiz competition. There were 44 teams from both UG and PG. Sangeetha and Sumayya Farhana bagged first prize in the quiz competition. Character demonstration was the major attraction of the event. Gender Sensitization

The PG Department of Psychology along with IQAC and NSS club, express our extreme joy on the accomplishment of today’s session on the topic ‘Gender sensitization: A life resource the world needs’. The session was handled by our alumni, Sanjana Anwar Ali, Counselling Psychologist, Yourdost, Banglore. The session enhanced the knowledge among the students about the importance of gender sensitivity and raised awareness on gender equality concerns. An elegant presentation of the topic helped the students to root out negative attitudes about gender and sexuality thereby making way for more progressive values. The session began at 10:35 am with the official welcome address by Dr Anupama SR (HOD, Department of Psychology and NSS Program Officer). QUEST 2022-23

The PG Department of English, Noble Women's College Manjeri has successfully conducted the extension activity QUEST 2022-23 to enhance the communication skills among upper primary school students. 11 students from l MA English participated in the programme. The session began at 10 am and lasted for 5 hours. The students from our 1st MA English served as the English language facilitators at Govt. UP school Vettekkode. They have prepared a comprehensive syllubus which comprised of 3 modules. Orientation on NAAC Revised Manual

The IQAC of NWC successfully conducted an Orientation on NAAC Revised Manual on 04 June 2022, Saturday. The session led by Dr C. Rajesh (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, KVM Valanchery) began at 10 AM with a formal introduction by the principal Dr S. Chitrakala, followed by the orientation session. The session presided over by Er. Ismail ( Secretary, NWC) and handed over a memento as a token of love. Dr. Rajesh clearly explained curricular aspects,teaching-learning and evaluation,research-innovations and extension,infrastructure and learning resources,student support and progression,governance, leadership and management,institutional values and best practice.It was quite fruitful and motivating, where the faculties cleared their doubts regarding the respective areas assigned. sessions winded up by the formal thanks delivered by Ms. Jayapriya, HoD of Commerce. Young Innovators Programme (YIP)

YIP unit of NWC, on February 22, 2022, conducted an orientation session for introducing the Young Innovators Programme, the flagship of the Kerala Development & Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISK). The objective of the session was to identify the students with bright minds for solving real life problems, mentoring them, attaching them to research institutions/ partner institutions with scholarships for one year and help them build a career around the innovations, researching, re-discovering, incubating and accelerating the innovation. Dr. Lieutenant Commander CK Abdul Rabbi Nistar, the principal, NWC, inaugurated the programme, which was co-ordinated by Mr. Basheer, faculty member, department of English. The programme began at 2.30 Pm with a welcome speech by Mrs.Sangeetha. Our respected principal Dr. (Lt.Cdr) C K Abdul Rabbi Nistar sir inaugurated the webinar and delivered the Presidential address. Ms. Ameena Noushad student of 2nd Semester B.Com introduced the guest. The talk by our honorable guest CA Rinshad PP (Practicing Chartered Accountant, Investment Advisor and Faculty of Financial Management) was insightful and informative. He had given a wonderful session indeed. Towards the end of session Mr. Rinshad PP also took time to clear the doubts raised by participants. The PG department of Commerce and Management conducted a Haiku competition as part of International Mother’s Day celebrated on 14th May 2021.
